Let customers save offers, points and credit to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

Your customers can save the rewards you give them, like an offer, their points, store credit or a prize, straight into Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on their phone. It sits next to their boarding passes and cards, ready to show at your counter, without opening a browser. Here’s how to switch it on, style your passes, and see who has saved one.

What customers can save

When passes are switched on, customers can save their personal rewards from your wallet, such as:

In your wallet Shows in the passes list as
A personal offer (static voucher) Static Voucher
Points from your membership club Membership Points
Store credit you’ve given them Merchant Credit
A prize they’ve won Prize Earned

Switch passes on

  1. Go to My Wallet Configuration and open the Integrations tab.
  2. Under Apple, set Wallet Passes to ENABLED.
  3. Under Google, set Wallet Passes to ENABLED if it’s available on your account (see the note below).
  4. Click Save Changes.

Google Wallet may not be on for every account yet. If you can’t switch on Google passes, or you’re not sure they’re live for you, ask us in Motivate Customers before you promise them to customers. Apple Wallet passes work today.

Style your Apple passes

Open the Apple Pass tab in My Wallet Configuration. The settings apply to all of your pass types, and a Preview at the bottom shows how a pass will look.

Setting What it changes
Background Color The color of the pass.
Text Color The main text on the pass.
Label Color The small labels on the pass, such as “POINTS”.
Strip Color The band across the pass.
Wordmark Logo Your wide logo (PNG).
Icon A square version of your logo, at least 660 x 660 pixels (PNG).

We check your colors are readable. Apple shows exactly the colors you choose, so if your text or label color wouldn’t stand out against your background, the page warns you and uses black instead. Pick a higher-contrast color to use your own.

Your logo and icon are saved for later. Your colors apply to passes today. The logo and icon you upload are stored now and will start appearing on Apple passes once image support is ready; until then, passes use our standard artwork.

What your customers see

  1. They open your wallet on their phone and verify their phone number with a one-time code. That unlocks their personal sections: My Offers, My Store Credit, My Tickets, My Club and My Points.
  2. They tap a reward that has a balance.
  3. Below the QR code they tap Add to Apple Wallet (iPhone) or View in Google Wallet (Android).

The button only shows on a real phone. If you check your wallet on a computer you won’t see it; use your own iPhone or Android phone to test. On an iPhone, the Apple button appears in the phone’s own language.

See who has saved a pass

Go to View Analytics > Wallet Passes, then choose Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Each page lists your Subscribers who have saved a pass:

Column What it tells you
ID The reference for that saved pass.
Status Active or Inactive.
Type What was saved: Static Voucher, Membership Points, Merchant Credit, Prize Earned and so on.
Date Subscribed When the customer added the pass.
View The eye icon opens that customer’s transaction details: what they did with the pass, and when.

Why it matters

A reward in the phone’s wallet is a reward that gets used. Customers don’t have to remember a link or dig through texts: your offer, points or credit is one swipe away when they’re standing at your counter. And the passes list shows you which kinds of rewards people care enough about to keep.
