Wallet · Merchant guide
Give a customer a balance of store credit they can spend with you, with no purchase required from them. It works like a gift card they never had to buy, and a customer holding a balance tends to come back to use it.
A balance, not points
Store Credit holds currency and moves up and down like a bank account. Load it, and the customer spends it at your register a little at a time.
No purchase required
Unlike a gift card, the customer never had to buy this. You grant the balance, whether as a welcome gift, a goodwill gesture, or a refund for a returned product.
A reason to return
Money sitting on account with you is money they come back to spend. That is why Store Credit lifts retention.
One name to know. This feature is also called Resort Credit or Customer Credit, and inside the portal the page is labelled Merchant Credit. They are all the same thing: a currency balance a customer holds with you.
The journey a Store Credit takes
You load it
Grant a balance to a customer
Create a single credit with a Mobile Number, a Member ID and an amount, or load many at once with the Upload button and its CSV template. The customer does not pay anything to receive it.
They carry it
The balance lives in their digital wallet
The customer sees their Store Credit in the wallet, styled with your Payment Design. Nothing to install, and the balance is theirs to spend whenever they come in.
Loading a Store Credit
You create one credit from three fields, then Create.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mobile Number | The customer’s registered cell phone. This ties the balance to them and lets you message them later. |
| Member ID | Your own unique ID for this club member, the value that ties the credit to that specific person across all your records. |
| Member Credit Amount | The starting balance you are granting. This is currency, so enter it as an amount (the field carries your merchant currency). |
Loading many at once. Use the Upload button, download the CSV template inside it, fill it in, and upload. Load in batches of up to 100,000 records at a time.
Getting the list out. Export queues the full list of your Store Credits, and you collect the finished file from your Data Exports a few moments later.
Working with a customer’s balance
Your Store Credits list shows every balance you have loaded, with its Mobile Number, Member ID, current Credit Amount, and the dates it was created and last changed. Search by Member ID or Mobile Number to find one fast. Click a row to edit that customer’s details or amount, or to Archive it.
Each row carries two logs, and they answer two different questions:
History log
Every change to the balance itself: what the amount was, whether the credit was active, and when. This is the record of the account over time.
Redemptions log
Every transaction at your registers against this balance: the register and terminal, the amount, and whether it was a redemption (a spend) or a refund (money added back).
There is also a Wallet Preview on each row, so you can see exactly what the customer sees in their wallet.
What your customer sees
The balance appears in the customer’s digital wallet as their Store Credit, styled with your Payment Design. When they pay, your staff apply it at the register and the balance goes down; when you refund a return, it goes back up. To them it is the simplest thing in the world: money they already have with you.
Good to know
Choose Design sets the look for every Store Credit at once. The Choose Design button picks the Payment Design used for all of your Store Credits together, not for one customer. Changing it restyles every balance you hold.
This is currency, not points. A Store Credit balance is money that moves up and down. It is a different feature from Membership points, which reward and rank members rather than hold a spendable balance.
Uploads run in batches. A single CSV upload takes up to 100,000 records. Split a larger list into batches and upload them one after another.
Archiving hides, it does not delete. Archive a balance to clear it from your list, and flip the Archive toggle to bring archived ones back into view.
Why it matters
A balance on account is a standing invitation to return. Casinos, hotels and resorts use this as resort credit, so a guest carries one balance that works anywhere on the property. Whatever your business, a customer who is holding money with you has a concrete reason to come back and spend it, which is exactly how Store Credit turns a one-time visit into repeat business.
