Run an open offer with Promotions

Wallet · Merchant guide

A Promotion is one public offer with a single code that every customer uses. Type the code once, set when it runs, and it appears in every wallet, ready for anyone to redeem.

One code, everyone
The Code you type is the same for every customer, and anyone who opens your wallet can see it. Perfect for an open offer like “20% off your first order”.

No setup for the customer
There is nothing to claim or scan first. The offer is simply there in the wallet the moment it goes live.

Public, so not measurable
Because everyone shares one code, a Promotion cannot tell you who redeemed it. When you need that, reach for a Voucher instead.

Promotion or Voucher?

Start here, because it decides everything else. The two features look similar and do opposite jobs.

Promotion
One shared code, public to everyone who opens your wallet. Great for a broad, open offer. It cannot report who redeemed, because there is nothing that ties a redemption to a person.

Static or Dynamic Voucher
A unique code issued per customer. Use this when you need one code per person, or when you want to measure redemptions.

How a Promotion runs

You create it

Fill in the offer and set the dates

Give it a Title, type the shared Code, set a Display Value and a Date Range, then Create. Setting the dates is the step that matters most (see the warning below).

It goes live

The Promotion appears at its start date

A Promotion stays hidden from the wallet until its start date arrives, and disappears the moment its expiration passes. In between, it is visible to everyone.

Customers see the code

Anyone who opens your wallet sees the same offer

Every customer sees the Display Value on the card and the one shared Code. They read the fine print in the Description and use the code at your checkout.

Creating a Promotion

You build the offer from a few fields on the left, then Create. Your existing Promotions show in the list on the right.

Field What it does
Title Names the offer so you can tell your Promotions apart in the list. Customers do not see this.
Code The one shared code every customer uses (for example FIRST20). Everyone sees and enters the same one.
Display Value The badge your customers see on the card, for example “20% Off” or “Free Dessert”.
Date Range When the offer runs. Hidden before the start date, gone after the expiration. Set this every time.
Description The fine print customers read on the offer, such as terms or exclusions.
Attach Image An optional picture to make the offer stand out on the card.

When you are done, click Create. To change a Promotion later, click the pencil on its row, edit, and Save Changes. Cancel clears the form back to a new offer.

Set the dates before you save

Leaving the Date Range untouched can save a Promotion that is already expired. The default range can end before the offer would ever be visible, so a Promotion you thought went live never appears in the wallet, with no error at save. Always open the Date Range and set a real start and expiration before you Create.

Not showing up? Check the badges first. Every row in your list is badged EXPIRED or NOT STARTED when it is outside its dates. That badge is the fastest way to see why a Promotion is missing from the wallet: either its start date has not arrived yet, or its expiration has already passed.

Preview before you advertise

Pro tip: use Preview to confirm it shows. The Preview button opens your wallet exactly as a customer sees it, so you can confirm a new Promotion actually appears before you put the offer in front of anyone. If it is inside its date range and set up right, it will be there.

Keeping the list tidy

Drag to reorder. Grab the handle on any row and drag to change the order your Promotions appear in.

Archive hides, it does not delete. Archive a finished Promotion to clear it from your list; flip the Archive toggle to see archived ones and Restore any you need back.

Add an image to stand out. Attach a picture and the offer reads as a real card rather than plain text, which earns more attention in a busy wallet.

Why it matters

A Promotion is the easiest way to put one open offer in front of everyone. One code, one Date Range, and it is live in every wallet. Just remember the trade: because everyone shares the same code, a Promotion is open and simple but cannot tell you who redeemed. When you need that answer, use a Voucher instead.
